On Christmas Eve 2024, Syd Howey, a founding trustee of OSPREY, died.
Syd held several roles within OSPREY and had been for the last 25 years, our Treasurer.
Syd was a highly respected, brilliant nuclear physicist, working over 40 years for the NHS Trust in East Yorkshire. However, his skills and innovation had far reaching effects both nationally and internationally.
He was married to Kath for 62 years and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and a great friend to many.
The retiring collection, for OSPREY, at Syd’s funeral raised and incredible £962.00, and the attached photographs are of the handover of the cheque by Syd’s widow and her daughter Lynne.
We have been privileged to have known Syd. He will be greatly missed by us all.
