OSPREY supports osteoporosis research at the University of Hull. The aim is to support innovative research into the causes, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of osteoporosis undertaken by local clinical and scientific researchers in the health service and university. The support can take the form of equipment, scholarships or research grants. By spending the money locally we hope to ensure local people have access to state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and the newest techniques in diagnosis, prevention and treatment.
OSPREY is currently inviting researchers to submit an application for a research project that is relevant to the clinical care of patients who have sustained osteoporotic fractures. The application must be able to demonstrate clear tangible value to the patients with osteoporosis. It must also take into account their priorities and needs and must be aligned to the service needs and priorities within the National Health Service. The project funding availble is a maximum of £50,000.
Applicants should submit an outline proposal (about 500 words) by e-mail to Mr S Howey (firstname.lastname@example.org) by no later than 14th May 2016. The outline should include brief details of the proposed study and estimated cost. Please indicate whether the study is to be part-funded from elsewhere. The outline submission will be evaluated and if successful at this stage you will be invited to submit a formal application which will be subject to peer review.
