Sue a Clinical Scientist is a founder member, trustee and joint president of OSPREY.
She became involved in the field of osteoporosis in 1989 and subsequently played a key role in the development of the Centre for Metabolic Bone Disease on the Hull Royal Infirmary site. As Consultant Physicist and Centre Coordinator, she provided scientific and technical leadership, management and development of the unit until 2008.
Sue was a founding and active member of the local Osteoporosis and Falls Strategy Group, producing and updating local guidelines, implementing and teaching at educational meetings and helping establish an integrated Osteoporosis and Falls Service in Hull. She has published a number of research papers and presented results at conferences around the world.
Sue was a member of the Scientific Advisory Group of the National Osteoporosis Society, Chair of the Bone Densitometry Forum and played a key role in design and delivery of the NOS Densitometry Certification Scheme and production of National Guidelines.
She is now Head of Medical Equipment Management and Innovation for Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust but maintains a close interest in the University based research being funded by OSPREY.
